I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of California Center Sacramento (UCCS). I received my PhD in political science from the University of California, Davis in 2017. From 2017 to 2020 I worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the UCCS. I then served as a 2020-2021 American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in the United States House of Representatives.

My research focuses on ideological representation in the United States and the responsiveness of congressional candidates and members of the U.S. Congress including the influential role of donors in the electoral process. My work on representation and responsiveness in primary elections has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science.

In addition, since 2018 I have served as the California representative for the Educational Network for Active Civic Transformation (ENACT). ENACT is a program that seeks to engage undergraduates across the United States in policy change at the state level. Originally from Hastings, Minnesota, I completed my undergraduate education at Grinnell College in Iowa.
